Your Role:

You will be responsible for quality assurance and quality management of our product range. You will lead a large quality team (approximately 400 employees) and ensure that all products meet the highest quality standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the team for the production of a diverse portfolio within Life Science Operations.
  • Ensure compliance with legal regulations as well as internal standards (ICH Q7, EXCiPACT, ISO 13485, ISO 17025, ISO 17034, ISO 9001).
  • Develop and implement quality strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Identify areas for improvement within the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, authorities, and customers to ensure product quality.
  • Cooperate with management to define strategic organizational goals and plans.
  • Comprehensive responsibility for the quality assurance and control of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
  • Implementation of strategies to actively involve employees in decision-making processes and continuous improvement initiatives; fostering a culture of trust and open communication.

 

Who you are: 

  • Scientific degree, preferably in natural sciences, particularly in chemistry, pharmacy, or engineering.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry, ideally in a leadership position within the quality area of the pharmaceutical or life science sector.
  • Excellent knowledge of GMP regulations and practical experience in dealing with the FDA and other health authorities during inspections.
  • Experience in leading large teams of managers and specialists.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and robust analytical abilities to identify and resolve challenges. Ideally, a qualification as a Lean & Six Sigma Black Belt.
  • Proven experience in managing change processes to promote the acceptance of new procedures and standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large teams in a dynamic production environment and create a motivating and supportive work environment.
  • Solid knowledge of modern production systems (e.g., Lean Management, Six Sigma) for process optimization and efficiency enhancement; experience in building autonomous teams and promoting continuous improvements.
  • Strong capabilities in identifying and analyzing improvement opportunities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to process and communicate detailed scientific, quality, and regulatory information.
  • Good understanding of the life science market, especially in the manufacturing and distribution of pharmaceutical active ingredients and excipients.
  • Fluent in German.
