Your role: 
We are seeking a highly experienced Interim Head of Treasury to join our Surface Solutions finance team. The Surface Solutions business unit, a mid-sized multinational leader in the pigments industry, is subject to a planned divestment to the company Global New Materials International (GNMI), headquartered in China, as of August 1st 2025. This role will be part of the divestment.

Surface Solutions is planned to become a stand-alone business under GNMI ownership. In this context, a fully-fledged, dedicated Finance function needs to be build up for Surface Solutions. The interim Head of Treasury role is critical in building and implementing key treasury processes for a mid-sized international company with three production sites and over 15 legal entities across more than 10 countries.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in treasury management and the ability to build and implement key treasury processes during this transformative period. You will establish and manage a global treasury function and respective processes for Surface Solutions, in close collaboration with the GNMI treasury team. You will ensure “Day 1 readiness” and a smooth transition into the stand-alone setup. You will oversee funding strategies and credit lines, oversee and manage financial risks, and maintain banking relationships to ensure financial stability of the newly independent business. Additionally you will develop and implement cash management strategies to ensure efficient liquidity management, and establish and oversee global payments infrastructure. You will facilitate the handover of a fully functioning team to GNMI Group Treasury after approx. 12 months.

Who you are:

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance & banking, or a related field; MBA or relevant professional certification preferred
• Proven experience (over 10 years) in leadership roles in banking / treasury management, cash management, and financial risk management, ideally within a mid-sized international company
• Demonstrated experience in building a standalone treasury function, particularly in a multi-national context with multiple legal entities
• Strong understanding of financial markets, banking relationships, and regulatory compliance.
• Agile mindset, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with diverse internal and stakeholders
• Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
