Your Role:

The holder of this position is responsible for a coating application lab within Surface Solutions. This includes the efficient organization of the lab processes, the decision on activities, the guidance of staff members as well as the responsibility for lab safety and documentation. The lab head develops the technical expertise in coatings application according to market demands proactively, manages internal and external projects in alignment with e.g. Sales, Technical Service, R&D or QC/QA and judges the results from application perspective accordingly. For the setup of tests as well as the evaluation of test results statistical methods should be used whenever appropriate. In addition, in cooperation with Marketing, the holder of this position will ensure that our pigments are presented in a market-relevant manner and that the USPs are optimally showcased. The results of work must be presented internally and externally in a comprehensible way. A close exchange with coating labs in US, China and Japan is also part of this responsibility.

Who you are: 

• University degree in Chemistry or similar
• Leadership experience preferred
• Professional experience in coatings or color development
• Curious to extend knowledge on different technologies
• proven in-depth skill set and experience in advanced statistical methods
• Eager to drive the digitization process forward
• Good communication skills within a global environment
