Your role
We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join our dynamic and expanding Proteomics team within the Discovery Pharmacology Department. You will work and improve on novel, innovative approaches for covalent drug discovery by means of (Chemo-)Proteomics for cellular target engagement (ABPP and other affinity-based methods), help in streamlining data analysis and explore methods for unlocking new target spaces beyond cysteine-engaging compounds. You will learn to operate and maintain a state-of-the-art proteomics infrastructure (Evosep ONE, TimsTOF MPP) and help in optimizing automated sample processing (HTS-lines; liquid-handler) as well as data acquisition strategies (DDA-/DIA-PASEF) for important aspects of early drug discovery. The PhD position is offered in collaboration with the Technical University of Munich AG Prof. Stephan Sieber and includes a short-term relocation to TUM in the first year for teaching and participation at the TUM Graduate School.
Who you are:
· Graduate degree in (Organic-) Chemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, or a related discipline.
· Curious and analytical mindset.
· Interest in MS-based proteomics (sample preparation, instrument operation, data analysis).
• Capabilities in setting up data analysis and visualization tools e.g. with R and/or Python.
· Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal. Fluent in English.
What we offer: We are curious minds that come from a broad range of backgrounds, perspectives, and life experiences. We believe that this variety drives excellence and innovation, strengthening our ability to lead in science and technology.
