Your role

  • We are looking for a highly motivated scientist to join our proteomics team within the Discovery Pharmacology Department. The Department focuses on hit discovery and hit optimization up to candidate nomination of small molecules drugs and ADCs with novel payloads for Oncology and Neuroscience diseases. You will work alongside colleagues with expertise in compound management, high-throughput screens, cell-free and cellular assays, biophysics and structural characterization.
  • Your role focuses on proteomics data generation and includes running the daily operation and maintenance of a state-of-the-art proteomics infrastructure (Evosep ONE, TimsTOF MPP) including automated sample processing devices (liquid-handling robot and others). You will plan and perform proteomics experiments as well as analyse and communicate the resulting data within scientific project teams. Furthermore, you will implement new methods for innovative projects and continuously streamline internal proteomics workflows to strengthen our drug discovery pipeline and support our various project teams.
  • Another important part of your work will be managing drug discovery projects including development of molecular glues, PROTACs, degraders, covalent leads, inhibitors and novel ADCs payloads for clinically validated but also very innovative targets. You will be part of collaborative multi-functional drug teams including biology, chemistry, data scientists, DMPK and safety experts focusing on the discovery of life changing medicines. You will be integrated in a dynamic environment, including external collaborations with CROs to accelerate drug discovery.

Who you are:

  • You hold a university degree (Ph.D) in a life science discipline with several years of experience in the biopharmaceutical or related industry, ideally in proteomics and project leading skills is desirable.

  • Hands-on experience in MS-based proteomics (sample preparation, instrument maintenance/troubleshooting, data analysis).
  • Experience in label-free DDA and DIA(-PASEF) based peptide and protein quantification, ideally including the analysis of PTMs.
  • Capabilities in performing analysis and visualization with R and/or Python would be a plus.
  • Research experience in the fields of oncology, immuno-oncology or immunology is advantageous.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal. You are fluent in English.
  • Collaborative mindset with very good analytical skills to solve problems, both by yourself as well as by leading and helping others are among your strengths.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that allow you to effectively interact with stakeholders from various teams and areas, both in German and in English are key attributes.
