The SME Material Characterization (all genders) is working in the field of pharmaceutical development of oral solid dosage forms and is accountable to identify, evaluate, build up and successfully apply material characterization technologies in the context of processability assessments to advance our Healthcare pipeline. The activities range from assisting early-stage particle engineering activities to supporting late-stage scale-up and troubleshooting in commercial scale.

 

Key accountabilities:

  • Leading a lab team of 3 technicians + supervision of pharmaceutical interns and PhD students
  • Continuous education and expansion of capabilities and translation to Healthcare Pipeline projects
  • SME project representative for material characterization topics
  • Lead of cross-functional initiatives on particle engineering and manufacturing classification system

 

Who you are:

  • > 2 years industry experience in drug product development with a focus on material characterization and/or solid-state properties
  • PhD in pharmaceutical technology
  • Experience in analytical method development for descriptors of powder processability in the context of pharmaceutical development
  • Comprehensive expertise on manufacturing processes of oral solid dosage forms
  • Profound knowledge in statistical data analysis, especially in multivariate data analysis
  • Experience in process modeling and simulation in the context of material properties (e.g. material calibration)
  • Programing skills (e.g. Python)
  • Excellent presentation skills, ability to lead cross-functional teams and inspire for complex scientific topics
