Your role:

As part of the Bioelectronics department, you will work on novel selective implantable Vagus nerve stimulators with a focus on design, verification, feasibility and technical transfer until regulatory submissions. You will work closely with our partners to ensure translation of requirements into the device development flow, give design as well as testing input and contribute hands-on to inhouse and external experiments.

As a Senior Device Engineer, you will work within our interdisciplinary and vibrant team of engineers, physicians, scientists, program managers, and external partners to develop and optimize next generation neurostimulators. Join us on our exciting journey at the frontier of bioelectronic medicine to bring novel therapies to patients!

Who you are:

  • PhD or MSc in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, microsystem technologies or a similar field
  • 7-10+ years of industry experience with class III medical device development
  • Familiarity with applicable standards, regulatory frameworks, and risk management (e.g., 21CFR820.30, ISO13485, ISO14971, IEC60601, IEC62366)
  • Working knowledge of mammalian physiology and experience with large animal studies
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to and translate between multiple stakeholders
  • Can-do entrepreneurial mentality coupled with effective project management skills
  • Interest in (neuro-)physiological data acquisition and interpretation; ideally knowledge of Python and/or Matlab
  • This job requires working onsite at our Darmstadt facility, as well as frequent traveling to external sites and partners
