Your role:

We are looking for a highly motivated Software Engineer as part of our Bioelectronics team to create effective interfaces to our class III medical devices (neurostimulators) to treat diseases where patients lack effective treatment options.

As part of our interdisciplinary and vibrant team of data scientists, engineers, and physicians, you will be instrumental in translating requirements for physician and patient interfaces into detailed specifications for our external software development teams. You will collaborate closely with these teams to enhance and refine these interfaces, ensuring they meet the needs of our users.  You will develop analytical approaches to leverage patient sensor data (remote patient monitoring) and will enable creation of impactful visualizations for web and device applications.

Who you are:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in computer science, data science, software engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Software Architect or similar role, 5 years minimum, with a strong understanding of agile software development processes and tools (scrum, user stories, sprints, Azure, Git)
  • Prior experience in (cross-platform) device (iOS/Android) and web app development; strong UI/UX intuition
  • Data science skills: Python; machine learning including time series handling; visualization/dashboards (e.g., streamlit, dash); good knowledge of statistics
  • Experience with AWS; database fundamentals (e.g., postgres, time series dbs)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to write performant and clean code and review code
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • A plus is some knowledge on device-embedded low-level code and communication protocols (e.g., Bluetooth). Experience on medical device development is also a plus.
  • English fluent, German is a plus
