Technology Lead, Agentic AI and R&D / all genders / Part-fulltime

Your role: You will own the technical architecture and evolution of a high-impact, multi-agent platform powering AI-amplified R&D. You’ll define engineering standards and raise the bar through hands-on code review, pairing, and concrete examples. You will build and maintain shared agentic infrastructure that enables multiple programs to contribute specialized agents within a single governed platform. You’ll connect the platform to external tooling, partners, and the broader ecosystem to ensure seamless integration and scalable growth. You will own platform design decisions around data sources, access controls, agent composition patterns, scalability, and maintainability, while actively managing technical debt. You will lead the technical roadmapWithin the context of a SAFe cadence, guiding the team and external contractors to maintain architectural consistency. You will ship production code, own CI/CD and observability, and drive robust testing strategies and security practices for sensitive R&D data. You will translate complex R&D requirements into robust technical solutions and clearly communicate these to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will mentor developers, lead by example, and help the team navigate the AI landscape with disciplined, evidence-based decision making. You will act as the permanent internal anchor for architecture and standards, ensuring the platform remains reliable, secure, and extensible as the program scales. You will champion a production-grade, multi-program agentic platform that enables autonomous experiment design and automated reporting without introducing structural drag.

• You are a senior software engineer with a proven track record of building and operating complex production systems end to end.
• You excel at technical leadership, making architectural decisions under uncertainty and guiding cross-functional teams.
• You establish engineering standards that endure beyond individual contributors and are committed to high-quality, maintainable code.
• You have a solid understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and cloud infrastructure (AWS and/or Azure).
• You bring experience with CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and production operations, including on-call readiness.
• You possess a security-first mindset, with knowledge of authentication, authorization, input validation, and AI-specific risks like prompt injection and data leakage.
• You are a clear communicator who bridges software engineering with non-technical R&D and product stakeholders.
• You are a fast learner who evaluates the AI landscape critically and makes sound architectural bets rather than chasing hype.
