Your role:

Join the AI & Quantum Lab at Darmstadt, Germany, and contribute to groundbreaking research at the intersection of quantum computing and chemistry. We're seeking a talented working student to support our team's involvement in VeriVaQ, a nationally funded project exploring quantum algorithms for quantum chemistry applications.

Our team is at the forefront of breakthrough technologies, working to identify use cases and drive the adoption of cutting-edge innovations such as Generative AI and quantum computing.

In this role, you will design and develop challenging test molecules that push the limits of classical computing techniques, and analyze and understand advanced classical computational methods such as DMRG, or Coupled-Cluster to benchmark against quantum computing approaches.

This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a rapidly evolving field.

Who you are:

  • Student in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science or related field
  • First experiences working with Post-Hartree-Fock methods such as CASSCF, Coupled Cluster, or DMRG
  • Programming skills in Python and familiarity with software libraries such as pySCF
  • Motivated to work in an interdisciplinary environment bridging quantum computing and quantum chemistry
  • Fluent (C1) in English and/or German
