Your role: 

 

Reporting to the Head of UK & IRE Distribution you will be responsible for leading and managing the safe and efficient operation and continual development of the Life Science UK Distribution Warehouse in Gillingham Dorset. In this role you will play an essential role in our leadership team overseeing a team of approx. 60 members. Ability to demonstrate a high level of knowledge & experience with successful progression within a Health and Safety, Quality & Service driven environment will be essential.

Responsibilities will include:

 

  • Enable & maintain high level of quality & safety culture across the warehouse by identifying and coordinating staff training requirements.
  • Work closely with OpEx (Operational Excellence) manager to identify and implement change to improve efficiency & productivity.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Operational Excellence Project Mgr to identify & implement changes to drive improvement in operational efficiency & productivity.
  • Collaborate with all other depts and function to ensure service performance is aligned with and above customer expectations for all customers.
  • Responsible for on target delivery of all service performance KPI’s & customer expectations for all customers (external & internal).
  • Provide high level of proactive management & leadership to the warehouse team.
  • Demonstrate proactive engagement and collaboration with other key personnel across the organisation, locally & globally.

 

Who you are:

 

  • Proven experience in Warehouse Leadership with successful performance & progression within in a complex busy distribution facility.
  • Excellent leadership & management skills.
  • Excellent organisational & decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate success implementation of process automation and digitalisation of manual processes.
  • Team focused, collaborative work ethic.
  • Customer & service-oriented mindset.
  • Sound understanding of change management.
  • Knowledge and hands on experience of Continuous Improvement and Lean 6 Sigma methodology.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task, problem solve, and flexible able to adapt within a changing environment.

 

Desired/advantageous:

  • Experience with Dangerous Goods or other chemical products.
  • IATA, IMO, ADR qualification.
  • Logistics / Distribution / Supply Chain qualification.
  • Experience working in a global matrix organisation.
  • 6 Sigma belt
