Your role:

 

The successful candidate will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team developing and optimizing synthesis processes for high quality multistep synthesis / scale up and purification of organic pharmaceuticals (small molecules). She/he is expected to demonstrate expertise in both the theoretical and practical aspects of organic chemistry and to have a passion for learning as well as the abilities to generate and implement original ideas and contribute to the success of drug substance development team. The main activities are: Develop synthesis and purification protocols coming from research, for organic molecules (NCEs) and drug linkers (ADCs) that are suitable and robust enough to get transferred to the pilot plant scale under cGMP and non-cGMP (API for pharmaceutical use in clinical phase 0 to 2 of the Company pipeline, 0,5 to 20 Kg scale); Work independently on the experiments (lab and kilo-lab) agreed with the lab head, providing verbal and written updates; Evaluation (together with the lab head) of the synthesis in terms of route scouting, feasibility, quality, safety and timelines/costs in alignment with the overall project needs; Take care of the appropriate protocol writing (electronic notebook) and documentation; Transfers of chemical processes from lab scale to Kg-scale for non-clinical and clinical supply.

 

Who you are:

 

  • University degree in organic chemistry (master, laurea) or Diploma of high education in chemistry and/or some years of experience in the field
  • Good knowledge of the English language
  • Previous experience in laboratory
  • Teamworking and ability to establish a positive work environment
  • Ability to work in an international environment
  • Good organizational skills and precision
  • Experience with general organic chemistry research techniques
  • Good knowledge of analytical methods and software applications for chemical purposes
  • Nice to have: Good knowledge of cGMPs
  • Good interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Good results orientation
  • Good team player with excellent communication skills
