Report to: Head of Legal, Compliance and Data privacy Officers for SEA & ANZ

Location working: Legal Counsel - Vietnam

Your Roles:

• Responsible for primarily providing comprehensive legal support in Vietnam, with some support for compliance and data privacy matters, across two active Business Sectors (Healthcare and Life Sciences). 
• Provide comprehensive legal counselling on relevant topics to the respective businesses.

What You Do:

• Ensuring provision of legal related counselling and advice to the Healthcare and Life Science business sectors and all operating entities in Vietnam.
• Supporting SEA sub-regional Compliance and Data Privacy colleagues for all matters relating to Vietnam. 
• Support of contracting (including commercial, research and procurement related contracting), market access, medical and research activities in the country as well as digital and other initiatives and projects. 
• Provide timely, added-value and risk based business support and counselling to internal business stakeholders on relevant and critical Legal matters, like e.g., projects and business initiatives, web shops, marketing activities, launches, integration management etc.
• Assist with fostering and implementing relevant legal, compliance and data privacy strategies and initiatives, as well as applicable policies and procedures, local industry norms, local laws, and codes. 
• Review global documents to develop, update and/or implement relevant local legal, compliance and data privacy rules, standards, policies and procedures in accordance with global standards and local laws and codes on a periodical basis.
• Interacting closely with other colleagues in the Global and APAC LE Teams and fostering collaboration across sectors.
• Proactive identification and management of legal risks in Vietnam together with the relevant global teams as well as claims and litigations.
• Taking on ad hoc projects as assigned.

Who You Are:

• Legal degree and admission to the bar to practice law in Vietnam with at least 3 to 5 years experience in the Healthcare or Life Sciences sector, preferably in a large law firm or the legal or compliance department of an international Healthcare or Life Sciences company.
• Familiar with the relevant legislatations in corporate, Healthcare and/or Life Sciences in Vietnam
• Knowledge in anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws and regulations, knowledge in anti-money laundering will be a plus;
• Knowledge in local data privacy laws and practices;
• Ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively across a diverse, highly-matrixed organization;
• Ability to think strategically, lead multiple initiatives simultaneously, and to work independently;
• Experience with an international environment and ability to work in different cultures.
• Comfortable working and interacting with all levels of management including senior management. 
• Well balanced business counsel. Influencer.
• Open, energetic, self-starter, pragmatic, ability to act under pressure.
• Excellent organizational, collaboration and communication skills.
• Good oral and written English
