Your role:

Join the Global People Insights & Effectiveness team, as Senior Product Oner Global Learning to establish and own a single global Learning Management System (LMS), driving a continuous learning culture and building a skills-based organization across our company. Lead end-to-end product delivery from design to go-live, ensure ongoing platform stability, and maximize adoption and ROI. Key Responsibilities

  • Own the global LMS product lifecycle: discovery, requirement alignment and prioritization, design, development, testing, deployment, and go-live.
  • Lead the implementation of one central global LMS, including global go-live, hypercare, and post-launch stability management.
  • Ensure seamless user experience and data flows between other HR systems, namely our internal talent marketplace (Phenom) and core HRIS (SF).
  • Collaborate with UX, Global Solution Owners, Sector HR Teams, IT, GES, HR Data & AI Governance, data privacy, and Employee Representatives to deliver an employee-centric HR solution.
  • Manage vendor relationships and third-party integrations; coordinate with internal IT and external partners to ensure on-time delivery and quality.
  • Prioritize functional demands and future enhancements: managing sprint backlogs up to deployment of new products and features to continuously improve the platform.
  • Ensure GDPR compliance and alignment with local legal requirements; partner with the data privacy team and Employee Councils to maintain compliance.
  • Facilitate handover to Global Enterprise Services (GES) for ongoing operational support where applicable.
  • Drive user adoption and measure impact and ROI
  • Support decommissioning of legacy LMS/Learning Academies and migrate to the central LMS.
  • Enable employees and leaders across Merck to adopt to the LMS
  • Act as a mentor and coach to peers; promote a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration.

 

Who you are:  

  • Minimum 5 years of experience related to HR IT projects with a focus on Learning data & technology in a global and matrixed environment with demonstrated success in cross-functional positions is required 
  • Knowledge and experience of Learning Management & HR technologies (e. g. Talent Marketplace, SF, … )
  • Expert in agile project management, ideally Jira 
  • Strong data-related product management experience, focusing on measurable ROI plus skills in data analytics and tech savvy with basic IT know-how (i.e. system integration via API vs. SFTP, flat file approach) 
  • AI literacy, Experience with agentic AI application and agent-to-agent integration experience or coding skills (Python) is a plus
  • Very strong stakeholder management track record and ability to develop and align requirements collaboratively with business stakeholders and key functions 
  • Experience in data privacy (GDPR) compliance and collaboration with local employee representative bodies 
  • With a user centric/customer-oriented, pragmatic problem-solving mindset with a strong outcome focus and attention to detail  
  • Fluent in English mandatory, German and any further languages a plus
