Your role: An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join the OT team at Merck Healthcare R&D as Global  Operational Technology (OT) and Architecture Manager. You will be responsible to lead the strategic OT Architecture pilar for the Healthcare R&D network and all related R&D sites. In collaboration with the Site OT Teams, representatives from other Sectors of Merck (Life Science and Electronics), and corporate IT you will be responsible to drive standardization and blueprinting of OT systems and their integration with IT infrastructure.

You will be interacting with other core OT pillars such as OT Service and Lifecycle Management, OT Program and Portfolio Management, and OT Cybersecurity. You will also be interacting with corporate Merck IT Infrastructure and IT Application teams, as well as corporate security teams.

The role is key to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient connectivity within OT and at the IT/OT interface. The connectivity will set the foundation for data exchange with IT systems and act as an enabler for our Industry 4.0 ambition.

The role reports to Head of DDIT R&D Architecture.

 

Who you are:

  • Graduate degree in industrial automation (or equivalent)
  • Several years (ideally 10+) of experience in OT (Lab required, manufacturing preferred)
  • Several years (ideally 5+) of experience in integration of OT systems with IT infrastructure
  • Hands-on experience in corporate IT/OT Technology and Architecture Management
  • Holistic understanding of OT cybersecurity standards and good engineering practices
  • Several years of experience in Healthcare industry with GxP activity records
  • Several years of experience in global / corporate wide IT/OT programs
  • Ability to interact with senior management in a matrix organization
  • Ability to develop a long-term vision and turn it into an execution plan
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders for collaboration
  • Business-fluent English skills
