Manufacturing Sciences and Technology (MSAT) グループは、メルクのライフサイエンス事業、プロセスソリューションの一グループであり、バイオ医薬品の開発または製造を行っているお客様の工程開発支援、製品選定、および技術コンサルテーションを行い、弊社製品の採用活動を行います。

 

プロセスデベロップメントサイエンティスト (PDS) の役割は、東京を拠点として主に日本地域を担当する MSAT チームの一員となり、全地域の顧客サイトでサポートを提供します。

また社内外へのトレーニングなど教育活動や技術資料の作成、また海外RDと協力した、弊社製品の開発支援を行います。

今回募集しているポジション(ダウンストリームPDS)では、特に新規バイオ医薬品の工程開発における精製工程に対して、顧客のプロセス開発のサポートを行い、精製工程において製品選定、サイジング、プロセス運転条件の最適化を実施します。主要なアプリケーションとして、クロマトグラフィー、ろ過、ウイルスクリアランス等を想定しています。

 

仕事内容

  • 技術的知見をもって顧客のプロセス開発をサポートします。顧客サイトでの実験プロジェクトの計画と実行します。
  • 清澄化、濾過滅菌、ウイルス除去、タンジェンシャルフローろ過、クロマトグラフィーなどのバイオプロセス技術のスクリーニングと最適化により、ダウンストリームプロセス開発を研究から商業化に至るまでサポートします。シングルユースおよびハードウェアのサポートもスコープに含まれます。
  • 十分な知識をもって実施された研究のレポートを作成、文書化します。
  • 優れた科学的洞察力を持って試験について議論し、クライアントと長期的な関係を構築します。
  • 顧客サイトで開発中の技術開発をサポートします。
  • チームメンバーとして技術文書の出版や会議に貢献します。
  • 社内プロジェクト、また社内外の教育に貢献します。
  • コマーシャル組織の一員として活動します。
  • 国内出張が頻繁にあります。稀に海外出張があります。
  • アップストリームの知識があればなお可。

 

仕事にスムーズに慣れて遂行して頂くため必要な研修を実施し、技術レベルを向上します。

 

 

 

応募資格

  • 製薬企業のバイオ原薬プロセスあるいは無菌プロセスの技術部門で5年以上の経験を有し、精製、ろ過関連等の技術に精通すること。
  • ラボでのベンチスケールおよびパイロットスケールの実験計画・実施・報告書作成等のハンズオンスキルに優れること。
  • 発表のスキルがあること。
  • 業務環境がバイオセーフティエリア(BSL-2程度)の場合あり。
  • 大型の試験機材の操作、重量物の装置運搬等に抵抗がないこと。
  • 出社しての就業が可能であること。
  • 顧客先への出張に抵抗がないこと。頻繁に国内出張があります。
  • 稀に社内会議等で海外出張があります。

 

  • 学歴:大学・大学院にて理工系の学位を取得された方。バイオ系であればなお可。
  • 語学:日本語ネーティブレベル。基本的な技術英語(マニュアル等の読解)に抵抗がないこと、業務においてメール等の読み書きができること。英会話能力がある方を歓迎。英語のコミュニケーションレベルの向上に意欲のある方。

Title: Process Development Scientst, Manufacturing Sciences and Technologies, Downstream processing

 

This position reports to the Manager, of Manufacturing Sciences & Technology Downstream processing Japan.

The ideal candidate should be a Minimum B.Sc. or equivalent scientific or technical degree appropriate to bioprocessing field with more than 5 years of experience in the field of biologics, bioprocess development in bioprocessing industry. The candidate should have ability to travel client sites in Japan and attend trainings or technical support in overseas. Native level in Japanese.

Who we are

The Manufacturing Sciences and Technology (MSAT) group is a part of Merck Life Science Business, process solutions and provides high-quality scientific and technical support to Merck customers developing or manufacturing biopharmaceuticals and drive Merck’s business. 

The Process Development Scientist (PDS) role will be part of the MSAT team mainly covering Japan region based out at Tokyo, Japan and will provide support at customer sites across the whole territory. The internal and external education, seminars, issuing articles is in scope. Communicating internal RnD team also. The PDS downstream supports  entire downstream processing process development for biopharmaceuticals.

 

Your Role:

  • Scientific client support role, planning and executing experimental projects at client sites
  • Sound knowledge of good documentation practice to write reports for the performed studies
  • Supporting client’s downstream process development teams with screening and optimizing bioprocess technologies such as normal flow filtration (clarification, sterile and virus removal), tangential flow filtration, Chromatography typically in R&D, pre-clinical to clinical phase, manufacturing and presenting the results to customers. Single use and Hardware support is in scope.
  • Develop long-term relationships with clients through discussion on the trials with good scientific acumen.
  • Support testing of technologies in development at customer sites.
  • Contribute as a team member to technical publications and industry conferences.
  • Contribute internal projects and internal/external training and education.
  • With a sense of commercial as a part of commercial organization.
  • Knowledge of bioreactors is an added advantage.

 

Who you are:

 

  • Minimum B.sc. or equivalent scientific or technical degree with acceptable experience in the bioprocessing field.
  • More than 5 years of experience in the field of biologics, bioprocess development in bioprocessing industry
  • Have enough technical knowledge of biopharma process such as Cell culture, filtration, purification.
  • Confident in executing both bench-scale and pilot-scale hands-on trials process from planning to reporting out.
  • Confident in delivering oral presentations.
  • Working at BSL2 rooms expected
  • Willing to handle and deliver large and heavy weight equipment and hardware.
  • Ability to work at Lab,Office and home and willing to frequently travel when required for performing study/trial/discussion/ conference within Japan. Ability to flight.
  • Occasional global travel expected.
  • Willing to do a teamwork, work with regional and overseas colleagues.
  • Native level in Japanese. Technical communication skills (verbal and written) in English. Willing to skill up your English ability.
