Your role:

The position is responsible to lead the strategy across priority brands and strategic projects to maximize access to Brazilian patients and the Company’s portfolio, as well as coordinating the engagement with Government bodies, Parliament, trade associations, patient advocacy groups and other relevant organizations. This professional will also be responsible for developing and implementing effective government relations strategies to ensure the company's alignment with government regulations and policies.

The position is responsible for leading the Government Affairs and Patient Advocacy team (GPA) and it is an integral part of the Market Access Team.

  • Develop policy positions and government affairs programs aimed at delivering a favorable business environment and maximizing patient access to the Company’s products in Brazil.
  • Develop and foster effective relationships with government officials, regulatory agencies, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Actively monitor changes in legislation and regulation that may impact the Company and provide strategic guidance to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal leaders to develop and execute advocacy strategies to develop government policies at local and national levels.
  • Represent the company at events, meetings, and government consultations to promote the organization's interests.
  • Participate in pharma associations and interest groups to strengthen the Company’s presence and opportunities.
  • Engage with Government, Ministry of Health, ANVISA, CONITEC, trade associations, patient advocacy groups, think tanks and other stakeholders on policy issues that impact the Company’s businesses.
  • Customize and localize global/regional market access strategies, priorities, action-plans to key GPA stakeholders.
  • Develop and promote disease awareness and patient engagement activities.
  • Provide political analysis and strategic guidance to senior management, assessing the potential impact of political changes to the Company's businesses.

  • Leading and motivating the GPA team to deliver the beyond for patients, as well as actively engage with all Market Access functions and other internal functional areas to co-create solution to expand access to the Company’s products.

 

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's degree in related fields such as Law, International Relations, Political Science, Pharmacy or equivalent; a master's degree is an advantage.
  • Proven experience in similar roles in the pharmaceutical sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of the regulatory and political environment affecting the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively in Portuguese and English.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively, lead complex projects, and make strategic decisions.
  • A track-record in policy development and policy influencing programs in healthcare/pharmaceutical sector.
  • Team/People management experience.
  • Proven track in leading and managing contracts with MoH.
  • Familiar with pharma compliance regulations regarding working with Government, MoH and ANVISA officials and experience in interaction with government officials, congressmen, and other key stakeholders.
  • Ability to provide strategic counsel, often under pressure, to senior leaders on policy and government affairs issues.
  • Strong networker able to manage a large number of external relationships.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, navigate large complex organizations and manage a high number of senior internal customers.
  • Proven ability to understand and clearly communicate complex and technical topics simply and succinctly.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
