Your Role:  

At Merck Electronics, the Senior R&D Specialist will work with a team of curious scientists providing advanced material solutions to the semiconductor industry. We are at the forefront of technology, working with all the leading semiconductor manufacturers to deliver integrated solutions to the most challenging problems. 

The scope of this position is development of advanced photoresists and related materials for EUV lithography and its extension, customization of each application and intensive customer support. The tasks involve managing and leading projects and being a key contact person for management and peers alike in a global setting. 

This role may involve both domestic and international travel.

Who you are:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Master or PhD degree in Chemistry, Material Science, or other related science and engineering disciplines with 5+ years’ experience in chemical synthesis, material characterization.
• >2 years’ experience in formulation development.
• Written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to generate new ideas, make a convincing case and drive to implementation.
• Ability to manage own tasks and influence others without direct authority.
• Being able to work in a matrix environment, Having team work spirits.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Background in Organic Chemistry.
• Highly motivated to work with a team and succeed, able to learn and adopt new concepts and capable of handling the ambiguity and the inherent uncertainties that come with advanced material research and development.
• Hands-on experience with molecular characterization tools (NMR, FT-IR, GPC, HPLC, GC etc).
• Experience in instrument for material characterization (SEM, AFM, XPS, XRR, DSC, TGA, TEM etc) is a plus.
• Experience in material design for molecures
• Familiar with cleanroom environment and equipment, such as clean track, dry etch, CD SEM, defect inspection.
• Experience in material development utilizing digital tools is desired.

• チームと共に成功するために高いモチベーションを持ち、新しい概念を学び、適応できる能力があり、先進的な材料研究開発に伴うあいまいさや不確実性を扱うことができること。
• 分子特性評価ツール（NMR、FT-IR、GPC、HPLC、GCなど）の実践経験。
• 材料特性評価のための機器（SEM、AFM、XPS、XRR、DSC、TGA、TEMなど）の経験があることはプラス。
• 分子のための材料設計の経験。
• クリーンルーム環境および設備（クリーントラック、ドライエッチ、CD SEM、欠陥検査など）に慣れていること。
• デジタルツールを利用した材料開発の経験が望ましい。
