Title: Senior R&D Team Leader

Department:EL-FO-PRE Patterning R&D EUV Program
Report to: Head of Patterning R&D EUV Program
Direct reports: 2 (Team size the role will manage : 9 FTE. Managing teams in Japan and the U.S.)
Your Role:
The Senior R&D Team Leader will lead a team of curious scientists providing advanced material solutions to the semiconductor industry. We are at the forefront of technology, working with all the leading semiconductor manufacturers to deliver integrated solutions to the most challenging problems.
The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee the development of advanced photoresists and related materials for EUV lithography, as well as their customization for specific applications, along with providing extensive customer support. The individual will play a crucial role in the New Product Introduction process, from demonstrating feasibility to transitioning into production, working closely with various functions. This position entails project management, leadership, and serving as a primary point of contact for management and colleagues in a global setting.
Responsibilities of an R&D Manager job also include:
- Understand customer expectations for upcoming products.
- Document all stages of research and development.
- Establish testing procedures for assessing raw materials, in-process and finished products.
- Oversee complex research projects, analyze outcomes and offer recommendations based on findings.
- Establish project goals and priorities through collaboration with Marketing and Operations.
- Assess project scope, monitor team metrics and objectives to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion.
- Recruit and develop R&D personnel to improve employee performance and skills.
- Attend industry conferences on relevant research topics.
This role may involve both domestic and international travel.
Who you are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master or PhD degree preferably in Chemistry, Material Science, or other related science and engineering disciplines.
- >5 years’ experience in formulation development or chemical synthesis.
- Proven experience in a management role with ability to act at both strategic and operational levels.
- Great problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle the ambiguity and the inherent uncertainties in advanced material development.
- Strong partnering skills, with the ability to work across all levels of the organization and multiple countries, effectively collaborating with multiple stake holders.
- Excellent people management skills to attract motivate and retain talent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Being able to work in a matrix environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in Organometallic Chemistry.
- Experience in material design for advanced photoresists.
- Familiar with cleanroom environment and semiconductor manufacturing processes.
- Experience in material development utilizing digital tools is desired.
