- This position will work closely with the Sihwa site operation leadership, various project teams, site EH&S and functional leads at SQ-E in the Germany or other company.
- This position is responsible for achieving zero accidents at the Sihwa site and ensuring that there are no violations of laws and regulations related to EH&S. And developing and implementing EH&S-related permitting strategies to support new business and develop the project; identifying and assessing emerging legislative and regulatory issues that can impact permitting and compliance and providing ongoing permitting and environmental compliance support to operating facilities.
- This position plays a key role in supporting business growth both SG and TF and portfolio management through new capital projects, acquisitions, and divestitures, and is critical to meeting regulatory requirements and internal company EH&S standards.
- This position will report directly into the site EHS manager or deputy site director.
- This position will have primary compliance program accountability for environmental and other health and safety regulatory requirements in Sihwa site and will be responsible for developing and maintaining compliance processes for regulations in addition to all Environmental Acts and Laws. This person will also be responsible for both mandatory reporting to governmental agencies and for voluntary reporting of environmental sustainability metrics which are reported externally at the corporate level.
- This position is responsible for improving the IH work process and environment in Sihwa site to promote employees’ workplace environment in operating plants and to find health hazards in a new project. The person in the position will closely work with Sihwa site operation leadership, project teams and functional leads at SQ-E in the Korea or US or Germany.
Your Role:
- Reports to Site EHS Manager and work closely with the Site leadership as a member of the Korea EH&S community.
- Observe and inspect operation department and project sites to prevent employee injuries and comply with laws. (or standard)
- Maintains permits with Site EHS Manager and manages to ensure compliance with regulations stipulated in laws and regulations.
- Tracking the achievement of the Sihwa site's EHS KPIs.
- Maintaining with MSDS of handled chemicals at operation dept and support the safety training if needed.
- Development to conduct planned safety training and increase the effectiveness.
- Participate in accident investigation team and take measures to prevent recurrence.
- Support each team's risk assessment activities and check the progress.
- Investigating and preparing documents for legal reporting to government agencies.
- Inspect environmental and waste management facilities and advise them to be managed properly.
- To support the development of annual EH&S training plan and provide the training materials in accordance with Global EH&S training requirements and local regulations.
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Safety or Environmental Chemistry.
- +3 years work experience in a similar work environment, as in a manufacturing plant.
- + 2 years in the chemical plant a related industry is preferred.
- Related certification is preferred.
- English Written/Reading Skill
