The Head of Single Use & Integrated Systems ApeC is a key position within the Process Solutions commercial organization, specifically within the Customer Applications (CA) team responsible for Single Use and Integrated Process Systems (SUIPS). The position will lead the SUIPS team, allocating resources effectively to maximize growth within this franchise while ensuring the team remains motivated and engaged to achieve their goals.

This role can be based in Singapore, India, Korea or Japan, and is reporting to Head of Customer Applications APeC.

 

Your Role:

  • Collaborate effectively with commercial partners to drive sales, utilizing your expertise and strategic insights in Single Use and Integrated Hardware Systems
  • Partner with commercial and other CA teams to develop comprehensive strategies for integrated solutions in the designated region. 
  • Coordinate with Regional Strategy Execution (RSE), Strategy, Field Marketing (FM) and Commercial team members to plan, coordinate and execute regional Plans of Action (POA).
  • Leverage your understanding of current industry drivers and trends, as well as competition dynamics, to identify strategic opportunities for your team to gain market share and grow the business.
  • ​Provide coaching and mentorship to support team members in their own development, and to demonstrate consultancy with a high-level of expertise in SUIPS.
  • Motivate sales efforts to pursue new business opportunities, focusing on commercial prospects for pre-Sales projects involving SUIPS products & capabilities. 
  • Present SUIPS expertise to customers and engage in high-level networking through both in-person and virtual interactions.
  • Develop and drive regional goals related to specific market responsibilities, including understanding certain business dynamics related to strategic customers/projects.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with sales teams to prospect, qualify, pursue, propose, negotiate, and close customer opportunities, particularly larger, complex deals.
  • Foster a team environment that encourages commercial teams to identify and nurture opportunities, emphasizing Competitive Conversion (CoCo), New Product Introductions (NPI), Product Seeding and Application Based Solutions (ABS).
  • Relay customer & commercial feedback back to leadership and strategy teams to implement best practices and address gaps. 
  • Ensure successful brand awareness and marketing of the company’s products for Pharma/Biotech in the designated territory.
  • Commit to the successful introduction of new products and participate in programs reinforcing product positioning and selling strategies.
  • Support the SUIPS team to identify customer needs, assessing potential, and applying technical expertise to ensure optimal technology use within the applicable regulatory environment.
  • Maintain technical excellence in SUIPS and complementary product portfolios, ensuring participation in upskilling activities such as Seminar Series and other Technology Team Programs.
  • Compile and report competitor activities and emergent customer needs, in order to advance the company’s product development strategy.
  • Monitor changes in local market dynamics and use them and leverage this information to refine business strategies, sharing insights with relevant stakeholders (CA/business).

Who You Are:

  • Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering or other relevant field.
  • A Master’s, PhD or equivalent combination of education and/or industrial experience is preferred, along with additional education or experience in Business, Marketing or similar with certification.
  • Possess over 10 years relevant technical experience in the life sciences industry.
  • Have At least 5 years people management experience.
  • Demonstrate strong Business Acumen.
  • Possess good knowledge in the biopharmaceutical market, biopharma process, and ATMP expertise, particularly regarding SUIPS.
  • Have experience with biological production across modalities including but not limited to, mAbs, ADCs, vaccines, mRNA and Viral Vectors.
  • Proven ability to manage complex and dynamic projects with a variety of key stakeholders.
  • Ability to build strategic working relationships and maintain strong, productive team dynamics.
  • Exhibit strong project management and execution skills in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Willingness to commit to business travel is required.
