Together, you will connect changing customer needs with the right technical and commercial capabilities, coordinating resources throughout the customer journey—from early exploration and evaluation to adoption, implementation and long-term growth.

Your Role

  • Use consultative Upstream expertise to identify and develop sustainable, long-term opportunities, particularly in cell line licensing, custom media development and manufacturing, and differentiated services and solutions.
  • Collaborate with Sales to prospect, qualify, develop and nurture opportunities aligned with key Upstream growth priorities, including:
    • Competitive Conversion (CoCo)
    • New Product Introduction (NPI)
    • Product Adoption (PA)
    • Strategic seeding
    • IA-to-GMP conversion
  • Support the effective use of APeC manufacturing capabilities, including the Daejeon Bioprocessing Center.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of strategic Upstream opportunities by applying disciplined qualification, prioritization and progression practices in partnership with Sales.
  • Ensure accurate and timely CRM visibility for relevant opportunities and activities.
  • Share customer and commercial feedback with leadership, business and strategy teams to promote best practices and highlight potential capability or portfolio gaps.
  • Represent and position the Company’s Upstream capabilities in strategic customer engagements, linking customer needs to relevant solutions and promoting a ONE PS approach in which the broader PS portfolio creates additional customer value.

Strengthen customer engagement and market development

  • Expand customer engagement, market development and adoption of the Company’s Upstream solutions across the assigned territory and/or accounts.
  • Lead the successful introduction and adoption of new Upstream products, technologies and capabilities.
  • Identify customer needs and commercial potential, applying relevant Upstream expertise to connect customer challenges with appropriate solutions.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Upstream technologies, applications and complementary PS capabilities to support high-quality customer engagements.
  • Monitor competitor activity, changing customer requirements and market developments, converting relevant insights into actionable commercial opportunities.
  • Capture and communicate Voice of Customer (VOC), competitive intelligence and emerging market needs to business, strategy and innovation stakeholders, helping inform commercial and portfolio priorities.
  • Develop strategic relationships with industry decision-makers, thought leaders and ecosystem partners to strengthen the Company’s Upstream market presence and uncover future growth opportunities.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline. A Master’s degree, PhD or an equivalent combination of education and industrial experience is preferred.
  • Additional education or experience in business, marketing, or a related commercial discipline—including relevant certification—is an advantage.
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in the life science industry, including sales development, business development, technical sales, customer applications or another customer-facing commercial or technical role. Experience in Upstream bioprocessing is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Upstream bioprocessing, ideally including cell culture, cell culture media, cell line technologies, process development and biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Experience supporting biological production across modalities such as monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), vaccines, mRNA, and cell and/or gene therapies, preferably with an emphasis on Upstream processes.
  • Understanding of biopharmaceutical customer buying and decision-making processes, from early evaluation through commercial adoption.
  • Demonstrated success in opportunity development, pipeline generation, complex opportunity management and multi-stakeholder selling, including experience with large, multi-stage opportunities.
  • Experience with custom media, cell line licensing and related services, competitive conversions, new product commercialization or strategic customer collaborations is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of process controls and regulatory considerations is a plus.
