Strategy:
Based on global and regional Lab Water Solutions strategy, develop the country growth strategy and execution plan
Develop tactical plan
Analyze local business trends and develop appropriate response including adjustment of existing short- and long-term strategy.
Develop local go-to-market strategy and define implementation plans designed to drive above-market growth while optimizing cross-selling opportunities
Develop local resource strategy
Contribute to global functional strategies (commercial, supply chain management, regulatory, etc.)
People Management:
3 direct reports
Lead the Lab Water Solutions Taiwan business along with the Field Service Manager and Field Marketing expert
Mentor/coach subordinates
Develop performance culture within the team to build future leadership pipeline and commercial talent
Implement robust talent management and succession plans and ensure talent visibility also outside the country
Contribute to building local and global talent pool
Implement effective performance management and contribute to objective setting and review process, including employees with global reporting lines
Member of Taiwan SLS Leadership team
Member of the Water Solutions Sales APAC Management Team
Customer Management:
Manage relationships with key customers, distributors and further business stakeholders
Develop company and Milli-Q brands awareness and reputation in the market with the support of relevant supporting functions
P&L/Operating Plan:
Lab Water Solutions Taiwan sales: 6 mEUR (includes sales of hardware, consumables and services)
Develop accurate sales forecasts
Deliver country P&L for Lab Water
Develop annual and mid-term commercial plans
Organizational Effectiveness:
Manage sales, pricing, distributor management and relevant commercial support in the country
As a member of the Science and Lab Solutions Management Team Support implementation of SLS local key initiatives
Identify opportunities to enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness in the country and realize synergies
Business / Sales Effectiveness:
Drive and direct the business within the market
Set targets for sales according to overall business targets based on product and customer knowledge
Maximize service growth and profitability as well as develop and implement plans of action to generate service growth
Ensure consistent use of product sales tools across sales channels.
In alignment with global product strategy organize support, product & sales trainings to enhance sales team performance
Design and lead a high performance and highly effective local sales organization that executes the go-to-market strategy
Establish and build key strategic partnerships in the country including with customers, distributors, opinion leaders and industry associations; collaborate with other local Life Science leaders to leverage these partnerships as needed
Maintains and updates competitive / geographical sales and products performance analysis and SWOT (strength, weaknesses, opportunities and threats). Provide inputs to relevant groups.
Deliver sales presentations to customers in coordination with other relevant functions
Collaboration:
Collaborate with all shared functions and business stakeholders
Active role in Science & Lab Solutions Leadership Team and role model behaviors aligned with compahy values and ethical principles.
Address cross-organizational topics in a timely manner
Participate in collective decisions and minimize the occurrence of upward escalation
Prevent emergence of organizational “silos”
Bus Dev:
Bring opportunities and ideas to the Global BD group
Compliance:
Safeguard compliance of local LS organization with country laws and corporate guidelines
Identify compliance risk areas and risk mitigation strategies in Lab Water according to Global Compliance risk management process
Maintain accountability for compliance in Lab Water Solutions
Be proactive in ensuring ethical behavior in Lab Water Solutions
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Minimum Master's degree in chemistry, life science or engineering, ideally with MBA or equivalent executive business education
10 years of sales management experience in laboratory market
Proven experience in developing and executing multi-channel sales strategies (direct, indirect, digital)
Accurate forecasting skills
Strong leadership skills fostering an environment of collaboration, teamwork, execution, and accountability required, with demonstrated ability to effectively manage cross functional teams across a matrixed organization
An effective change agent that can operate in ambiguity to deliver upon business strategy
Strong English and Chinese communication skills
Ability to understand and apply basic knowledge, processes and technique to plan and execute projects
Adept at engaging with relevant stakeholders and project management experts for execution
Capable of translating a business issue into a problem solving or design-thinking framework, routinely uses decision-making methodologies to solve problems and competent at training the team on appropriate methods.
Ability to engage a variety of audience (team, peers, leadership, customer, partners etc) during presentations in English and Chinese. Ability to design and deliver effective presentations with message, structure, clarity, and impact by using story telling techniques.
Proven coaching and mentoring experience.
Travel requirement:
Expected to be in range of 50%.
