Your Role:
In this pivotal role within our medical rare tumours / disease team, you will shape the medical strategy for your therapeutic area and serve as the scientific and patient-advocacy voice within a cross-functional healthcare team. You will own the local medical agenda — from designing and executing evidence-generation initiatives and disease awareness programs to building trusted relationships with healthcare professionals, patient advocacy groups, and health technology assessment bodies. Acting as the primary liaison to patient organizations, you will translate patient insights into actionable strategies that directly influence access and outcomes. You will guide G-BA and GKV-SV engagement, lead advisory boards and congress activities, and ensure all medical and advocacy initiatives meet the highest standards of scientific integrity and regulatory compliance. This is an opportunity to drive meaningful impact at the intersection of science, patient centricity, and healthcare policy.
Who You Are:
- You hold an advanced degree in medical sciences (MD, PhD or equivalent) or bring at least 3 years of relevant clinical experience, ideally with a background in medical affairs and/or patient advocacy.
- You bring 5 or more years of experience in Medical Affairs, ideally within rare oncology or related rare disease areas, with a strong focus on patient advocacy and stakeholder engagement.
- You have a proven track record in designing and executing patient engagement and disease awareness strategies, including experience with health technology assessment processes such as G-BA.
- You demonstrate deep knowledge of the German healthcare environment, including the patient advocacy landscape, payer dynamics, and regulatory frameworks.
- You communicate with clarity and confidence, building trusted relationships with external stakeholders including healthcare professionals, patient organizations, and access bodies.
- You are comfortable working in a cross-functional environment, contributing to real-world evidence generation, clinical trial support, and scientific communications.
- You are willing to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 30 to 40%) and are fluent in both English and German.
- Valid driver license required
