YOUR ROLE:

The Head of Global Development Operations Japan is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight for all clinical development activities in Japan. This role requires building strong relationships with investigators, sites, and internal stakeholders while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in clinical research, strong leadership abilities, and the capacity to drive performance excellence in a complex, matrix organization.

WHO YOU ARE:

• 10+ years of professional experience in Clinical Research in biotech, pharma, or CRO, including experience in Clinical Trial Management and managing Clinical Monitoring/Site Management
• At least 5 years of people and resource management in a multifunctional or multinational setting
• Graduate degree (Medical or Life Sciences) in a clinical research related discipline or equivalent
• Ability to think beyond own function, considering overall business objectives and company strategy while anticipating internal and external business challenges. 
• Outstanding leadership skills to ensure high-level harmonization and excellence across teams and geographies, with the ability to direct, influence, and motivate people.
• Demonstrated excellent organizational skills, including time management, prioritization, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Approaches change positively, adapting behavior or work methods in response to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles. 
• Strong cultural awareness with fluency in English (oral and written)
• Japanese language is a must have.
