Program Manager Japan / R&D, Biopharma

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Japan Program Manager to lead our new drug development program team in Japan. This role represents as a Japan Program Manager in Global Program Team and served as a Program Leader in the respective local team. You will be responsible for overseeing projects, managing cross-functional teams, and ensuring alignment with our corporate objectives while adapting strategies to meet local needs.

YOUR ROLE:

• Project Management: Lead and manage new drug development projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they meet timeline and budgetary goals. This includes partnering with the Global Program Head (GPH) and Program Management Lead (PML) in executing integrated evidence plans and achieving key milestones.
• Market Strategy: Develop and implement market-entry strategies, analyzing market trends and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities for growth. You will also be tasked with ensuring that the program aligns with local regulations and market needs.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including partners, health authorities, and customers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across all levels.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and performance. You will manage a cross-functional team of approximately 20 members, guiding them to achieve collective goals.
• Performance Metrics: Establish KPIs for projects and evaluate outcomes to inform future strategies and initiatives. Regularly track and follow up on action items from team meetings, ensuring all stakeholders are informed of decisions.
• Cultural Awareness: Leverage local insights to guide decision-making, ensuring our strategies resonate with Japanese consumers and stakeholders. Act as an integrator within the Global Program Team (GPT) to align best practices and processes.

WHO YOU ARE:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management or related roles, preferably within the global pharmaceutical industry, with at least 3 years in project management.
• Language Skills: Fluent in Japanese and English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) and project management tools. Experience working in a global matrix team environment is preferred.
• Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to influence at all levels and a mindset focused on results in a collaborative setting.
