Introduction

Are you looking for a key finance role in a fast-growing biotech scale-up? As a Financial Accountant at HUB, you’ll build the financial backbone that helps accelerate organoid-based drug discovery and treatment. We are currently seeking a fulltime Financial Accountant to join our finance team.

Your role:

Join our finance team and become the financial backbone of a fast-growing biotech scale-up revolutionizing drug discovery. As Financial Accountant, you'll manage day-to-day financial administration, ensuring all transactions, sub-ledgers, and period-end processes are accurate and timely. You'll work closely with the finance team and external stakeholders to provide reliable foundations for management reporting and statutory filings. Based in the Netherlands, reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you'll own key responsibilities including accounts payable and receivable, monthly close processes, fixed asset management, VAT declarations, and cashflow forecasting. Beyond routine tasks, you'll have the autonomy to design and improve finance processes that drive faster, better management information. This is a full-time role offering real impact in a collaborative, international environment where your work directly supports cutting-edge organoid-based research.

Who you are:

  • 5+ years of accounting experience in a professional setting, with proven expertise in financial transaction recording, reconciliation, and period-end close processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of Dutch GAAP and ability to prepare financial statements in compliance with Dutch accounting standards and regulations.
  • Strong technical accounting skills including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset management, inventory control, and VAT administration.
  • Experience in fast-changing environments with a proactive mindset toward process improvement and change management.
  • Meticulous attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English (written and verbal).
  • Self-directed and adaptable, able to work independently, manage your time efficiently, and handle shifting priorities with flexibility.
  • Tax and payroll accounting experience is a plus and will strengthen your application.

What we offer and who we are:

  • A friendly and international environment where you’ll feel like home.
  • Flexible, combining remote work with in-office collaboration
  • A competitive salary with attractive benefits, including 28.5 leave days plus national holidays.
  • A pension plan with two-thirds of the contribution paid by HUB.
