Ziel der Position:

·         Diese Position spielt eine entscheidende Rolle bei der Steuerung und Optimierung des End-to-End-Prozesses in der Buchhaltung von innerkonzernlichen Verrechnungen von Services, immateriellen Dienstleistungen, dem Verkauf von Bestandteilen des Anlagevermögens sowie dem Ausgleich anderer nicht zum Umlaufvermögen gehörender Rechte und Pflichten (Dividenden, Patentgebühren, Transferpreisanpassungen, etc.) besser bekannt als „Intercompany Accounting- Service“

·         Sie treibt globale, strukturelle Prozessverbesserungen, Standardisierung sowie Automatisierung voran – in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem Innovations- und Analytics-Team sowie den Fachbereichen und unterstützenden Funktionen

·         Aufbau zentraler Fähigkeiten innerhalb von GES zu Unterstützung der Unternehmensstrategie und Transformationsinitiativen   

Übergeordneter Prozessumfang:

• Gesamtverantwortung für die Prozessoptimierung und Abstimmungsprozesse (Reconciliation), Transformationsinitiativen sowie strategische und geschäftskritische Programme (z. B. ERP).
• Kontinuierliche Bewertung und Verbesserung des End-to-End-Intercompany Accounting -Services mit Fokus auf Automatisierung, Standardisierung und Effizienzsteigerung.
• Implementierung und Unterstützung der Ressourcenplanung.

Geschäftsprozesse (Business Process):

• Definition, Design, Architektur und Implementierung eines globalen End-to-End-Prozessmodells zur Optimierung der Abläufe über alle Organisationseinheiten hinweg (innerhalb und außerhalb von GES).
• örderung von Prozessvereinfachung, Standardisierung/Modularisierung und Automatisierung in enger Abstimmung mit operativen Einheiten, Fachbereichen und unterstützenden Funktionen.
• Steuerung und Sicherstellung geeigneter Prozesse für Business- und Supportfunktionen.
• Identifikation und Implementierung von Best Practices (intern und extern).
• Verantwortung für Tools, Anwendungen, Systeme, Richtlinien und Prozessdesign in enger Zusammenarbeit mit relevanten Stakeholdern.

• Definition und Umsetzung einer Prozess-Governance gemeinsam mit dem BPM-Team, einschließlich: Change-Control-Prozessen, Compliance-Sicherstellung. Dokumentation und Pflege

• Definition von Kontroll- und Risikopunkten sowie Nachverfolgung von Audits
• Enge Zusammenarbeit mit dem Data-Team zur Sicherstellung von Data Governance.

Strategische Initiativen:

• Verantwortung für strategische Initiativen wie ERP-Einführung, Implementierung und Automatisierungsprogramme, sowie Periphere-Lösungen (z.b. Workflows) .
• Leitung von Prozessverbesserungsinitiativen unter Nutzung moderner Technologien und Best Practices zur Effizienzsteigerung.

Performance Management:

• Definition, Steuerung und Pflege von KPIs zur Messung der operativen Performance und Prozessstandardisierung.
• Förderung der Automatisierung und kontinuierlichen Weiterentwicklung relevanter Reporting-Tools.
• Internes und externes Benchmarking der KPIs.
• Definition und Steuerung von SLAs zu den der operativen Einheiten erbrachten Leistungen des Buchhaltung für die innerkonzernliche Verrechnungen in globaler Abstimmung mit relevanten Stakeholdern.
• Verbesserung von Qualität, Nutzererlebnis und Effektivität entlang des End-to-End-Prozesses.

Erweiterung:

• Verantwortung für die Erweiterung des Leistungsumfangs (horizontal und vertikal), um zusätzliche Services für Business- und Supportfunktionen bereitzustellen

Kompetenzen und Fähigkeiten

• Aufbau kritischer Kompetenzen im Value-Stream-Team zur Identifikation, Priorisierung, Lösungsentwicklung und Steuerung von Verbesserungsmaßnahmen.
• Abstimmung mit operativen Führungskräften im R2R-Bereich zur Entwicklung von Lernpfaden für Fach-Expert: innen (SMEs).
• Aufbau von Lern- und Austauschplattformen je Teilprozess zur Förderung von Best Practices und Wissensaustausch.
• Förderung eines virtuellen Prozessnetzwerks zur Steigerung von Qualität und Produktivität.

Organisatorische Einbindung

• Enge Zusammenarbeit mit Delivery-Teams und deren Leitungen in Hubs und/oder Service Centern.
• Schnittstellenfunktion (dotted-line) zwischen funktionalen Führungskräften im R2R-Subledger-Bereich und dem BPO R2R-SL.

Purpose of the role:

·         This role plays a critical part in managing and optimizing the end-to-end process in accounting for intercompany transactions, including services, intangible services, the sale of services within MERCK, and the settlement of other rights and obligations (dividends, patent royalties, transfer price adjustments, etc.), commonly known as "Intercompany Accounting Services."

·         Drives global structural process improvements, standardization, and automation in close collaboration with the Innovation and Analytics team, business units, and support functions.

·         Establishes core capabilities within GES to support enterprise strategy and transformation initiatives.

High level Process Scope:

• End-to-end accountability for process optimization, reconciliation activities, transformation initiatives, and strategic business-critical programs (e.g., ERP).
• Continuous assessment and enhancement of the end-to-end Intercompany Accounting Services with focus on automation, standardization, and efficiency improvements.
• Implementation and support of resource planning initiatives.

Business Process:

• Definition, design, architecture, and implementation of a global end-to-end process model to optimize operations across all organizational units (within and outside GES).
• Promotion of process simplification, standardization/modularization, and automation in close alignment with operational units, business units, and support functions.
• Management and assurance of appropriate processes for business and support functions.
• Identification and implementation of internal and external best practices.
• Ownership of tools, applications, systems, policies, and process design in close collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

• Definition and execution of process governance in collaboration with the BPM team, including: Change control processes, Compliance assurance, Documentation and maintenance, Definition of control and risk points and audit tracking
• Close collaboration with the Data team to ensure data governance.

Strategic initiatives:

• Accountability for strategic initiatives such as ERP implementation, automation programs, and peripheral solutions (e.g., workflows).
• Leadership of process improvement initiatives leveraging modern technologies and best practices to drive efficiency gains.

Performance Management:

• Definition, management, and maintenance of KPIs to measure operational performance and process standardization.
• Promotion of automation and continuous enhancement of relevant reporting tools.
• Internal and external KPI benchmarking.
• Definition and management of SLAs for Intercompany Accounting Services delivered by operational units in global alignment with relevant stakeholders.
• Enhancement of quality, user experience, and effectiveness across the end-to-end process.

Scope expansion:.

• Own the scope extension and penetration both vertically and horizontally to deliver further services covers to the business and enabling functions

Capability building:

• Build critical competencies within the value-stream team to identify, prioritize, develop solutions, and drive improvement measures.
• Alignment with operational leaders in the R2R area to develop learning pathways for subject matter experts (SMEs).
• Establishment of learning and knowledge-sharing platforms by sub-process to promote best practices and knowledge exchange.
• Fostering a virtual process network to enhance quality and productivity.

Organizationally

• Close collaboration with delivery teams and their leaders in hubs and/or service centers.
• Interface function (dotted-line reporting) between functional leaders in the R2R Subledger area and BPO R2R-SL.

Ausbildung:

Education:

Bachelorabschluss in Accounting & Finance oder vergleichbar Masterabschluss oder relevante Zertifizierung (z. B. MBA, MSc, CPA, CMA) wünschenswert

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in accounting & finance or equivalent; Master’s degree or relevant certification highly desirable (MBA, MSc, CPA, CMA)

Berufserfahrung:

Work Experience:

Idealerweise mindestens 5 Jahre Erfahrung in einer Accounting-Expertenrolle in einem multinationalen Unternehmen oder in Shared Services / GBS. Fundierte Kenntnisse in General Accounting und Record-to-Report-Prozessen mit Fokus auf Buchhaltung innerkonzernlicher Lieferungen und Leistungen

Proven experience (ideal 5+ years) in an senior accounting expert role in a big multinational organization and/or Shared Services / GBS organizations with strong insight in general accounting and R2R processes with dedicated focus on Asset Accounting.
